And Lumina Bohn is extraordinarily different.
Living in terror of discovery, Lu knows nothing of her past?but she knows she must pretend to be human to survive. When an incident at work triggers her astonishing powers, she becomes the target of an international manhunt. Only one person can save her: Magnus, the enigmatic stranger haunting her dreams.
Magnus rescues the outcasts called Aberrants from capture and torture. As Lu begins exploring her powers among her people, her feelings for Magnus intensify. He's determined to stay emotionally distant, yet their smoldering passion soon becomes impossible to resist.
But when a shocking revelation threatens the lives of every remaining Aberrant, Lu and Magnus must risk everything, confronting their enemies in an explosive final stand to save their kind from the darkest fate of all: extinction.
Lumina has always known she is different. With the help of her stepfather, she has struggled to hide her unique abilities because the world she lives in is greatly changed since the "Flash" that changed the landscape and world forever. The survivors struggle daily under the oppressive new regime but time is running out for Lumina as an inspection is looming. A disastrous confrontation whilst Lumina is at work sees her attempting to flee the city but she’s tracked by Magnus, who unbeknownst to Lumina is part of the Ikati race and even more surprising to her is the fact he is the man who has been haunting her dreams! So many steamy nights have occurred in her imagination and yet, now here he is alive and very much real and what he shows her will change her life forever!
So this is a bittersweet read for me. The final installment and yet as a reader I'm still left with many questions. This is a conclusion that surprised me but no spoilers here. Characters from previous books appear but not all will survive this final push and Lumina finally learns she is not as alone as she thought. Magnus is such a stoic hero but no match for a wily female I fear! Passionate, imaginative and full of twists and turns, I've loved these books and can't wait to see what Ms Geissinger imagines next!
