It took a spectacularly embarrassing break-up to knock Steve Moonshine Coleman off his lazy butt. In the ten months since that night, he’s changed his ways, and now that Melody’s back in town, it’s time for this sweet-talking cowboy to convince her to get back in the saddle with him.
A return to her veterinary position in Rocky Mountain House was always in the cards for Melody Langley. Getting back together with Steve? Never part of the plan. He had lots of potential but zero ambition, and there’s no way she’ll accept anything less than a man who can keep up with her, in and out of bed.
But the new-and-improved cowboy is impossible to resist, so Melody issues a challenge. Three months to prove he’s reformed. Three months of Steve orchestrating one sexual indulgence after another—wicked distractions from the old boys’ club Melody faces at work and Steve’s growing responsibilities.
He’s got one shot to prove with more than words what’s in his heart and soul.
Warning: Fifty percent less angst, twice as much filthy-talking, dirty-daring cowboy. Get ready for a whole lot of make-your-knees-weak wooing from a man intent on proving he’s got what it takes, and the woman ready to push him way past his limits.
Steve has always been content to just coast along and work on his family’s ranch. It's a life he enjoys and he has never seen a reason to change it. Having had a relationship for a couple of years with Melody, the newest veterinarian in town, meant he felt he had his life pretty much sorted, but Melody had other ideas and dumped him in spectacular style!
Melody got so fed up with Steve taking her for granted and realised she truly deserved more. She has been out of town for nearly a year but now she's back; and there's no way she wants to get involved with Steve again but Steve has other ideas! Steve sees Melody in town and knows she's the only woman for him but how does he convince her he is prepared to make changes. Melody is having a hard time convincing local farmers that she's up to the job of tending their cattle so the last thing she needs is more grief in her life. She is no longer content to be at Steve’s beck and call and challenges him to make her a priority. If Steve truly wants her, he is going to have to prove it. Steve is up for the challenge though and he is about to show Melody just how sweet his cowboy loving ways can really be. Time to buckle up Melody as this ride is going to be anything but vanilla!
I do enjoy escaping into the world Ms Arend creates and this extended family always makes me smile. With this installment, we get to see the eldest brother chase the woman he loves but it's not an easy ride and he has a lot to make up for. What really surprised me was the author tackling an issue affecting many men and it's done in a way that feels realistic and not saccharine sweet. Well done Ms Arend as let’s face it, it's the women who read your books who will be keeping a closer eye on their men folk’s health.
So this was a sexy story about two people reconnecting and thoroughly entertained me. There's more to come though, as not all the assorted brothers and cousins have found their happy ending and indeed one or two seem very unhappy in Rocky Mountain Romance. There's a certain mystery lady the readers are teased with as well, so it's with great anticipation I look forward to the next book. If the Six Pack Ranch was a real place I'd certainly be on my way there now and I suspect other lovers of romance would want to join me!
