The half-siren half-demon bounty hunter Dagan Meyers swore he'd never settle down. His older brothers might’ve adjusted well to family life but tying himself to one woman is so not Dagan’s bag. Until he meets the gorgeous angel Lina, his brother Ronin’s long-lost adopted sister, and he can’t think of being with anybody but her. Too bad Ronin’s well aware of Dagan’s party-boy lifestyle and won’t let him anywhere near his angelic baby sister.
Lina is still getting over the abandonment issues that began when she was orphaned as a child and has devoted her life to taking down evil Otherworlders. The last thing she wants is to develop feelings for man she knows will eventually leave her, too. But as the battle against a growing darkness continues—a powerful fae who’s harnessed untold power—Dagan and Lina find that love may be their greatest weapon against the very thing that threatens to destroy them all.
Dagen is part Siren, part demon, and all man. He's previously been working as a demonic bounty hunter with his brothers. When they recently disobeyed the Council's orders the brothers became a target themselves! Determined to finally apprehend the powerful Fae who has been evading them, Dagen's more than a little distracted by the angelic Lina. As she's his brother Ronins adopted sister, she's off limits, isn't she? Even if Dagen could persuade Ronin he's worthy of Lina's affections, he still has to convince her his feelings are real. Lina is proving to be a tough sell! Unfortunately for Dagen, he's not the only one interested in Lina. As her past collides with the very real present, it looks as if a showdown is inevitable. Suddenly it's not just a race to find the evil Fae, it's a matter of survival. Dagen is about to face his own nemesis and will need all his strength as the final showdown begins.
I've loved these books and would be hard pressed to decide which story was the best. Yes, each book is a romance, but there's just so much world building going on the reader is left speechless. Fast and furiously paced and definitely never a dull moment. Written with a style and panache that transports the reader into the story, I cannot praise this series highly enough.
The hero of Call of the Siren, Dagen, is one hot guy. The author cleverly puts us in his head at times and we get to live through the events that have helped shape him. He reaches a shattering conclusion, but bravely faces it head on. The heroine, Lina, is flawed and I liked that. She's suffered tragedy and although she might have been weak in the past, has rebuilt herself and comes out fighting. This story saw other members of the family placed in grave danger too and it's a monumental battle that concludes Call of the Siren.
I will miss these brothers! I am already screaming for more as Ms Lario introduces a character about halfway through who surely must get his own book! Please Ms Lario you really cannot leave your loyal readers like this! Hopefully, a spinoff series will be forthcoming.
This was an exciting conclusion to a series I heartily recommend. If you love kick ass heroes, action and romance, you won't want to miss these demonic brothers.
Call of the Siren is an e-book and is $0.99 at Amazon and B & Noble
