A god in disguise
No one in the Prison for Magical Deviants knows that prisoner Logan Laufeyson has secret identity. He is the ancient trickster god Loki, in magical disguise on a mission of his own. A mission that will come to a sudden and disastrous end…
The woman he's never forgotten
Demi-goddess Sylvi has spent eight hundred years trying to forget her long-ago affair with Loki, which destroyed her dreams and got her banished from her home. When Loki escapes from prison and stumbles through her door with a problem that threatens both their lives, she must set aside her anger while trying to resist a passion she’s never forgotten. The fact that her magic can be enhanced by sex makes ignoring Loki even harder—especially when they must utilize her rare talent.
A threat of ultimate evil
Thrown together, Loki and Sylvi must foil a masterful plot that threatens not only their lives, but every god in existence. It will take all of their power, and all of their long-buried love, to face the ultimate danger - or vanish and be forgotten forever…
As the story begins, Loki (or Logan as he now calls himself) has assumed the guise of his friend, Ian, and has taken his place in the prison for Magical Deviants (don't you just love that title?). However, his mission has taken a nasty turn and his plans to escape are somewhat hampered by discovering the woman he loves is literally on the grounds above him! Sylvi is a Demi-goddess cast out of Asgard for daring to help Loki escape the wrath of his fellow Gods. When Loki shows up at her door, injured, her heart cries out to help him but her head realises that the male who destroyed her life once, has the power to do it again. Resisting him is crucial to Sylvi's peace of mind but together they discover a heinous plot to destroy the remaining Gods and Goddesses. So begins a perilous journey that will take them to the very brink of madness as sanity and the life they remember is placed on the line.
Oo, I really liked this couple. Loki is always seen as an impulsive trickster but in Fate Undone, Ms Hall allows him to be brave, utterly relentless, and totally self sacrificing! Now doesn't a hunk like that deserve a special lady? Well step forward the utterly amazing Sylvi. Not only has she saved Loki in the past, but her magical abilities can work wonders for him now. Oh yes, Sylvi has the ability to strengthen her magic and without giving too much away it's a very enjoyable experience for Loki! Two very focused characters that deserve a happy ending but it's not ever going to be that easy!
Fate Undone was, for me, the best yet and at times it felt like an Indiana Jones movie! Ms Hall has conjured up a romance that truly resonates with the reader and cleverly incorporates flashbacks to bring it further to life but the fast paced action scenes just blew me away. Great fun to read and this series just keeps getting better.
