Felipe, one of New Orleans's most infamous--and crazy--vampires is back in town. And to say he's unhappy is an understatement.
Duprees and Williams have to track down Felipe, fast, before he claims any more victims. If that means making a deal with the Devil--otherwise known as St. Germaine--and using an untrained dhampir, so be it.
If that wasn't enough, I've also got rebellious teenagers, feuding couples, and a suddenly full social calendar.
The more things change....
There are lots of characters in this series but Jude is the centerpiece. Actually, I adore how well all the female characters are written. I’m not saying, by any means, that the male characters are not justly portrayed, but the women steal the books. Ms. Pruitt’s characters are very well fleshed out and their feelings become your feelings. The story flows extremely well with enough action to keep you on the edge of your seat. She doesn’t overdue it either but something is always happening. I had trouble trying to find a place to take a break, so, I didn’t once I got started. It kept me up till I finished it. I just couldn’t walk away without knowing what was going to happen next.
The ending of the previous novel was picked up and integrated very well into this one. As a matter of fact, I have some new favorite characters. Nope, not telling, you must read the series!
I felt Shades of Blood shows improvement in Ms Pruitt’s writing. A maturity, if you will. I really enjoyed the first two books but this one showed the growth of not only the characters but the growth of Ms Pruitt’s storytelling. Shades of Gray got me hooked, Shades of Desire was a solid entry but this novel is my favorite so far. I hope Ms Pruitt continues to grow with each added novel.
Shades of Blood is very reasonably priced at $2.99 for Kindle.
