In the last year, Joanne Watson has died, fallen in love, fought demons and earned her Wings.
None of that compares to what's coming next....
Life as a member of the Winged isn't perfect--or easy. There's always some new camp drama. There's always a demon ready for a fight. There's always death.
And now there's the Resistance.
Joanne must choose again, this time between her fellow Winged and their burning desire for change or the archangels and the eternal vow she made.
Even in the afterlife, one truth remains--everything ends.
This is the second installment in Ms Pruitt’s Winged Series. She can’t write fast enough for me. If you thought the first book, Winged, was good, Uprising adds another layer of icing on the cake. The series is a bit dark but it reads well and I couldn’t put it down.
The characters are more deeply developed and the storyline takes an unexpected turn. Ms Pruitt is just full of surprises in this novel. Believe me, don’t take anything for granted.
Joanne is completely torn between her sympathies for the other Winged and her promise of loyalty to the Archangels. And to be honest, she is legally contracted (kind of like marriage) to Raphael. She loves him deeply.
People Joanne thought she knew and were friends are suddenly switching sides. At first she tries to talk with both sides but then decides, she’s better off staying neutral. Everyone is pulling and cajoling for more information. This is a no win situation for Joanne.
I could not put this book down. There is something about this series that calls to me. It’s raw, gritty and addicting. I was technically ready to kill Ms Pruitt when I finished Uprising. Yep, if she had been close, I could feel my fingers itching to get to her throat. In this instance, that’s a good thing.
I love this series and can’t wait for the next.
