Even more shocking, this unforgiving female is completely unimpressed by me. How is that even possible? But I know what I want and, for the moment, I want her. And I'm sure that she, like all females, will learn to adore me. How could she not when I am just so damn charming?
What I liked: After more or less refreshing my memory on the storylines and who was who, I was just transported in time to another world full of irresistible dragons, bold humans, crazy villains, and so much humor and innuendo, that I was in heaven for about a day. That's how long it took me to read Light My Fire.
I really liked they way this story was laid out. While there is more or less a starring couple, all the previsous characters are heavily involved in the story and the plot. The pacing in Light My Fire was outstanding! It steadily built and had an earth shaking ending.
Hopefully everyone remembers Celyn (The Charming). ***(SPOILER from previous books. He and Izzy had a thing that sent Eibhear into a rage!! They were good friends but....yeah, you know how that goes)*** This is Celyn's story, but so much more. Ms Aiken ties so many previous plot lines together in this story that it's bigger than just one couple. However, I must say I absolutely loved Elina. Not only her but the story about her people, the by-play between her and Celyn is hysterical, hot and wonderful. I was in stitches whenever they were together. Every time Elina opened her mouth, I pictured some Eastern European accent trying to talk English. It added to the enjoyment.
This couple wasn't the only high point, Ms Aiken out did herself with all the characters. Yes, the majority from previous books all play a part. I can't say more without spoiling too much but you will love it!!
What I didn't like: At first, I forgot how raunchy Ms Aiken's writing can be and my eyes just popped open but I settled in. I have nothing against raunchiness, if it adds to the story and this series is built that way. Sex has always been out in the open and a good portion of the story. Having said that, the majority of the time, love happens!!
With the exception of the first book, Dragon Actually, I think this is my favorite book.
