Once upon a time, Carissa Teodoro believed in happy endings. Money, marriage, motherhood: everything came easy---until she woke up to the ugly truth about her Prince Charming. Now a struggling, single mom and stranded by a flat tire, Carissa's pondering her mistakes when a vaguely familiar knight rides to her rescue on a ton of horsepower.
Climb on and hold tight . . .
In high school, Carson Steele was a bad boy loner who put Carissa on a pedestal where she stayed far beyond his reach. Today, he's the hard-bodied biker known only as Joker, and from the way Carissa's acting, it's clear she's falling fast. While catching her is irresistible, knowing what to do with her is a different story. A good girl like Carissa is the least likely fit with the Chaos Motorcycle Club. Too bad holding back is so damned hard. Now, as Joker's secrets are revealed and an outside threat endangers the club, Joker must decide whether to ride steady with Carissa---or ride away forever . . .
Carson "Joker “Steele always knew that Carissa Teodoro was the perfect female but, oh so way out of his league. Fast forward a few years and both of their lives have changed beyond all belief. Joker is part of Chaos Motorcycle club and now he has his "brothers" to cover his back after so long being on the outside. Carissa saw her perfect fairy tale fall apart when her dirt bag husband cheated and now is doing all he can to take their son away from her. A chance encounter when Carissa gets a puncture puts Joker back in her life, but it takes her a while to finally see what's exactly right in front of her!
I loved Riding Steady with its mixture of angst, trials, romance, and of course, those alpha MC guys! Ms Ashley writes stories with heart that just draw the reader in and it's a journey we share with her amazing characters. Tough heroes who will do anything to protect the weak, and her heroines will go through fire to protect the ones they love.
What made this book extra special was seeing old and much loved characters from previous books show up. I admit half the time I didn't have a clue what Tack was saying, as Ms Ashley gives him the most peculiar dialogue but I've stopped trying to work out each sentence and now just go with the flow!
So can a cheerleader and an outsider finally find love together? You just know with Ms Ashley at the helm anything is possible, eventually!
