Alexandra Monzelle is a hard-fighting, heat-packing Seattle vice cop, and she’s not much interested in being protected. Her short skirt and sex-kitten heels are tools to lure her suspects into talking about the deadly new drug hitting the streets. She can take care of herself and then some. Unfortunately, she can’t seem to get that through to Kellach Dunne.
Kellach is a fresh import from Dublin, and he’s landed at the heart of a vicious motorcycle club that deals in guns, narcotics, and mayhem. He’s all male, all rough power—and all interference in her damn investigation. Maybe he’s one of the good guys. Maybe not. Lex knows an affair with an immortal like him would risk everything. No matter how delicious he looks…
There's a new drug on the streets of Seattle and for feisty hard working cop Alexandra it's a battle to stop its distribution. When out one night trying to take down a dealer she finds herself rescued by one of those she wants to arrest!
Kellach is like no one Alexandra has ever met before; he's huge, totally bad ass, gorgeous (natch!) and unfortunately, part of the MC that appears to be distributing the dangerous drug known as Apollo. Yet for some reason her lady bits seem to sit up and take notice and that's very confusing. Kellach is the bad guy isn't he? Yet constantly he seems to want to help; so does Alexandra trust her instincts or follow protocol?
There are not many authors that are an auto read for me but Ms Zanetti always gives me a romance writhing with heat and passion. I loved this paranormal story with its mixture of bikers and magic and the fact the heroine was a truly strong independent woman just added to the delicious storyline. Kellach never has it all his own way and there's fireworks aplenty. It almost felt as if they fought with each other almost as much as they fought off the bad guys! Alas, as we the readers know, Kellach is far more than just a biker but as this fast paced story continued Alexandra saw a whole lot more of his world and what an eye opener it was!
I loved the humour in Wicked Ride (bear rug anyone?) and a certain pair of "prospects" just made me feel very happy. Fans of the Dark Protectors will cheer to see this mixture of old and new characters in what could very well turn out to be a fabulous new series. Such an interesting start but I'm left wanting more as Alexandra's family history, for me, lacked emotion but I cannot fault the hard muscled Irish biker because if all the heroes are going to be like him, then I'm definitely on board for more! A huge recommendation for lovers of paranormal romance
