Steele doesn’t know how he wound up in this mess–with a kidnapped woman on his hands and the police hot on their trail. Now he and Laurie are in hiding at an isolated cabin, and Steele has to figure out how to extricate himself...and steer clear of his accidental captive whose tight, slinky clubbing attire is making him think all kinds of dangerous thoughts…
This is possibly the most emotional installment of this story with a lot of soul searching. Laurie has been through such a traumatic experience at the hands of Donovan that Steele’s very touch brings back flashbacks and as he's a guy who likes to dominate in the bedroom it's proving to be a real problem. I liked that the author took time to let this play out and didn’t offer an easy, quick fix. This is an over the top fantasy and yet with each installment Ms Carew has managed to imbue her writing with a strong sense of direction. Laurie's character has grown throughout this book and with this the last installment, we see her making her own choices but she's not alone. This band of nomadic bikers are very protective of each other and although their lifestyle might not appeal to all, as part of Steele’s crew, you know someone always has your back. Steele is a man with particular needs and has to make harsh decisions as the last thing he wants is to hurt Laurie.
This is a sexy story and although there is no ménage in this episode, it's worth pointing out that these bikers like to share. I have enjoyed the way Ms Carew has managed to constantly end each installment with a strong cliff hanger and has made me want to find out what happens next. I do prefer to be able to read as much or as little as I want though, so for me, it's probably best to stick with complete books. That being said if you enjoy a wild ride then this author certainly delivers.
