Miranda Montgomery might be the youngest of the Montgomery clan, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t know what she wants. Namely—Decker. She’s loved him for as long as she can remember and won’t walk away until she gives it her all.
But once they give in, not all is at it seems. Decker’s father’s out of jail and someone from Miranda’s past isn’t happy with the new relationship. Even as they start to move on and overcome their pain, they’ll find that their inner obstacles are the ones they’ll have to face first.
Miranda may have had a girlish crush on Decker but she's all grown up now and it's about time everyone noticed! Miranda is not a Montgomery for nothing though and decides to take the bull by the horns and show Decker exactly what she wants, but her timing is all wrong and the man of her dreams just doesn't seem to want to play. What's a girl to do? Miranda dusts herself down and takes a chance but it goes horribly wrong leaving her hurt; but she's a fighter.
Decker can't quite believe the mess Miranda got herself into and all his protective instincts have him wanting to hold her and never let go but Decker is not soft and loving. No, he's a man who needs to control and the last thing he wants is to hurt Miranda but she's not a wilting flower who can't take his particular brand of loving. These two people finally take a chance but Decker’s past is about to catch up and Miranda has problems of her own, as not everyone is happy to see her with Decker.
This series just keeps getting better. I love the Montgomery family and always enjoy the warmth that emanates from their gatherings. Ms Ryan has a gift for making them feel like old friends that the reader knows and loves and there's so much heart to be found in these books. Yes, this is the story of Decker and Miranda and he's quite right to tread warily. He is seen as part of the family and a failed relationship between him and Miranda would change the dynamics considerably.
Decker’s own family life was anything but loving and it's only through the Montgomery clan that he has survived and grown to be the man he is. So much could go wrong but sometimes things are inevitable and the passion between this couple is far too scorching to ignore forever. Lots of hot loving on these pages but it's not just sex. There's a very interesting storyline here with subplots that hint at more to come and I, for one, will be keen to catch up with these larger than life characters again soon.
Ms Ryan writes in a way that grabs the reader’s attention but her real talent lies in the fact that the reader starts to care about these characters and their lives and loves. Nothing is easy and there are obstacles and pain to overcome but with love and support anything is possible. Pick up this book and prepare to become engulfed by the Montgomery family and trust me it's a wonderful thing!
