In Roz’s secret heart she’s attracted to Ronin, one of the Daoine Sidhe. He’s so profanely beautiful she can barely breathe around him, but he’s also headstrong and arrogant. Not good partner material, she tells herself, unless she wants to end up dusting her heart off one more time.
Ronin set his sights on Roz when she was at his home in the U.K. for a strategy meeting and he can’t get her out of his mind. Unfortunately, she’s so prickly getting close to her requires scheming. He casts an enchantment to lure her at Colleen’s wedding, but she senses the spell and rebuffs him.
Roz is used to calling the shots. So is Ronin. Sparks fly. Tempers run hot, right along with an attraction too strong to be denied. Roz and Ronin come together with a fierceness borne of desperation, but demons are determined to rid themselves of the witches for good, no matter what it takes.
Roz along with her two friends, Colleen and Jenna, realise the situation they face is dire. A power hungry witch has betrayed them and has been colluding with the demons but right now the most important thing in the mind of Roz is ensuring her friend’s wedding goes off without a hitch! Colleen has found true love with the gorgeous Sidhe Duncan but it's an uneasy alliance as the witches still don't really trust the Fae. As if all the wedding preparations were not enough to contend with, Roz cannot help but be attracted to the gorgeous but arrogant Ronin.
Unbeknownst to Roz, Ronin has very definite plans for her and they include just the two of them and a bed! Ronin is not the philanderer Roz believes and has suffered a heartbreaking past that still tears him apart but his attraction to the stubborn Roz is palpable! Roz seriously doubts any man will really love her and pushes everyone away. Oh yes, they have great chemistry but there's no way Roz will bow down to any man, but what if she doesn't have to? What would she do if Ronin could step up and be her partner and not just in bed? She doesn't want to give up her independence but when the demons attack it's clear working together is the only way forward even if it means landing up in Hell!
Another great tale from Ms Gimpel. I'm so pleased to see Roz show her softer side as she seemed so lonely to me in the previous book. These three women have been through so much but it's clear the danger is not passed. I love the Unseelie or Dark Fae and hope to see more of them and there's a wealth of interesting supporting characters here from Changelings to Titania, queen of the Fae! There's just so much going on I'm surprised by just how much action and romance this book managed to squeeze in. Lots of sexy scenes but still a fabulous plot to follow. A little shorter than I wanted but Ms Gimpel never fails to deliver a fast paced and entertaining story.
