Two years ago, Lizard Monroe was Berkeley's newest delinquent on parole. Now she's a hot young realtor with a great life, an awesome guy, and enough friends to chase away the ghosts of her past.
The crystal ball has spoken - life isn't done messing with her yet. And neither is the need brewing in the eyes of the man she loves.
The eve of Halloween approaches. And whatever the sexy poet realtor wants to believe, moving beyond your past isn't the same as facing the future.
This is the first book in my new Witch Central series, featuring my well-loved clan of modern witches and those who love them. Light contemporary fantasy with a good dose of humor, a little romance, and characters you won't want to leave.
What I liked: Ms Geary writes books unlike any other in the marketplace today. The onus of the story isn't simply carried by one character but the whole cast with some more in the forefront, but still, watch out for the characters slightly in the background. Her world of witches is so accomplished and heart grabbing, it's hard to put down any of her books once you start. Each novel is like visiting family. No hardcore sex, no exactly kick-ass heroines, but feelings on a page. I may cry while I read Ms Geary's novels but when I'm done, I feel energized and hopeful.
The nitty-gritty is in the world building, while mostly complete, it's fluid enough to introduce new characters. The story lines interconnect and move forward and the characters are some of the best I've read.
You may notice there's no "what I didn't like" in this review. There is nothing to write there so I skipped it. That simple. At one time or another, everyone should read this series. It's a feast for your emotions and for your life.
Highly recommend but start at the very beginning and enjoy!
