Ranch hand Blue Perez’s once simple life is spinning out of control. He’s discovered he has three half-brothers, and they’re not ready to accept his claim on the ranch. Also, Blue’s girlfriend may have betrayed him in the worst way possible. And after one evening of drowning his sorrows at the bar, there’s someone he can’t get out of his mind, a woman who says she’s carrying his child.
Following a night of breathtaking passion in the arms of the man she’s longed for all her life, waitress Emily Shiver is contemplating her next step. With everything that’s going on in Blue’s life, she doesn’t want to force him into fatherhood. Yet as hard hearted as he may seem, Blue can’t turn his back on her, particularly when she becomes the target of someone’s dark obsession....
Emily thinks Blue is oh so fine and when one night she takes his drunken self home it's a chance for them to connect on the most basic level. Unfortunately there are consequences and Emily quickly discovers she is having Blue's baby! Now Emily has plans of her own and dreams to follow but she wants to keep her baby. When someone in her family discovers her predicament, well let's say things escalate pretty quickly! Blue is a man who has no compunction about stepping up and accepting his responsibilities but this angry cowboy still has a way to go before he can happily ride off into the sunset!
I loved Blue! Yes, he is almost like a stuck record at times and I wanted him to stop hurting both himself and those around him, but he is a typical Cavanaugh boy who needs a swift kick from a good woman. Now luckily Emily does see the man beneath the swagger and knows how emotionally crippled Blue is. They have serious chemistry and Blue sure does want to please but it's not a perfect romance and sooner or later Blue just might find himself losing the one thing that's truly important.
Well, I think most readers knew at the end of the previous book, Brash, just where the murder mystery was going. It's still a part of this story but I did kind of miss the snippets from the diary. In fact, it's almost an anticlimax which seemed a shame. Most of Bonded settles around the whirlwind relationship this young couple find themselves thrown into. Expect romance, heat, and to want to shake Blue at times! As usual, it's so well written and I loved the humorous scenes with Emily's family and her deputy brother is an absolute hoot!
