When the Master of the city of New Orleans asks Jane to improve security for a future visit from a delegation of European vampires, she names an exorbitant price—and Leo is willing to pay. That’s because the European vamps want Leo’s territory, and he knows that he needs Jane to prevent a total bloodbath. Leo, however, doesn’t mention how this new job will change Jane’s life or the danger it will bring her and her team.
Jane has more to worry about than some greedy vampires. There’s a vicious creature stalking the streets of New Orleans, and its agenda seems to be ripping Leo and her to pieces. Now Jane just has to figure out how to kill something she can’t even see….
What I liked: Everytime Ms Hunter releases a new Jane Yellowrock book, I throw my sleep schedule out the window! No matter when I start it, I always stay up way past my bed time either reading or so hyped up, I can't sleep!! Broken Soul is no exception.
This entry into the Jane Yellowrock world is so full of....everything, all the things! There's action, sex, mystery and did I mention hot sex. A bit of romance and one of my favorites things in any Jane/Beast book, humor. Some books, I think I can tolerate Leo and some books I hate him. Broken Soul made my final decision for me. You HAVE to read it to find out because I think you'll agree with me....Leo is a first class a*s. Bruiser on the other hand, well, oh my gosh hot and always has been even when he screws up.
Of all the secondary characters, I really love Eli and a bit less, Alex. Their relationship with Jane is just what this series needed. Eli totally cracks me up and yet is so very capable and hot. I can't wait to see what Ms Hunter has in store for Alex. He's so much older than his years. Reach, I was so sorry he wasn't all I expected but it put a great spin on the last book, ????, and this one especially.
I'm gushing, I know...the worldbuilding and character development in this series is amazing. I start reading and I literally feel like I'm in Jane's world and have a hard time coming back to my livingroom. Broken Soul effected me so much, the night I finished I had dreams about Leo's basement. Yep, you have to read it to find out a deep, dark, secret!
What I didn't like: Absolutely nothing!!
I especially enjoyed a few surprises Ms Hunter threw in about Jane/Beast. Didn't see that coming at all. Ms Hunter has a wonderfully devious manner in revealing character secrets!
Highly Recommend!! (If you've not read this series, what are you waiting for??)
