Ashli Rosewood was never meant to die. In fact, her death might be the very reason the gods are now faced with stopping that pesky doomsday right around the corner. If only there was a way to undo the past.
Cue Máax. Seven feet of divine masculinity and the unruly god charged with saving Ashli. With a little help from an ancient Mayan tablet, Máax will travel back in time and set things right.
Because Máax has one teensy challenge. He's invisible. And every time this impatient, powerful deity gets anywhere near Ashli, he spooks her right into harm's way. Meaning...she dies, and he has to start all over again.
Cliff, banana peel, runaway storage container filled with Belgian chocolates, bee sting, the list goes on and on. Does the Universe have it out for this girl? Sure seems that way. But why? And what will Máax do when he begins to suspect that not only is Ashli the key to stopping the apocalypse, but she may be "the one" he's been waiting seventy-thousand years for.
How will he save the one woman the Universe insists on killing and who wants nothing to do with him?
Approx. 85,000 words.
It's been a wild and twisted journey for the Gods featured in these stories, deception, betrayal and manipulation have brought them and indeed humanity to the edge of extinction as an apocalypse is looming over the world. Cimil the goddess of chaos has had her sticky fingers in this pie from the very beginning and she's not about to walk away now. Her visions have shown her an outcome that would benefit all, but who will listen to her when everyone knows she is beyond sanity and so mercurial that it's a wonder she ever wears a matching pair of shoes! Oh no, Cimil is not trusted by her fellow Gods but since when has she let a teensy thing like that stand in her way?
The Gods are imprisoned but one of them Maax, the God of truth roams free. Oh it's not that he's off the hook but it is kind of difficult to imprison an invisible deity! It looks as if the end of the world is creeping ever closer and the foretold earthquakes have begun but Cimil has convinced him a human female named Ashli has the ability to halt the impending apocalypse. There's just one slight problem, it would seem death is stalking Ashli and is determined to claim her! No matter what Maax does, Ashli keeps dying in obscene and hideous ways. Oh he can keep taking her back through the past in the hope of changing her fate but the one thing he has been warned is on no account should he take her forwards, no Ashli has to age as a mortal and then embrace her destiny to somehow save the world. Seems like a tall order to Maax, as after all Ashli is only human but what a human. She's soft to his hard, curvy to his lean angles, delicate to his macho bulk (well he is seven feet tall and built like a, well built like a god!). Oh and did I mention she's the most perfect woman Maax has ever seen? Ashli is a stubborn thing though and not about to get swept off her feet by an invisible god no matter how good he smells! Their problems are just beginning though and pretty soon Maax has to admit to himself that maybe even with all his godly powers even he can't keep cheating death!
Okay, these books are so funny and did I mention sexy too? Each book features one couple finding their perfect match or mate if you will, but the threads that bind them all together just make the readers' head spin. This may be the last of this series but I note there will be a spin off series highlighting a supernatural dating agency, so that's something for fans to look forward to.
As for this book, Maax is stubborn and sweet and so out of his depth! I loved his passion for Ashli and the chemistry they share is so intense but these Gods are very tricky! At times I wanted to just shake them as they circled around each other but the payoff was so worth it. There is a very intricate and detailed plot connecting these books and Accidentally...Over? was a fabulous conclusion. I can honestly say there's never a dull moment and the reader never knows what's coming next as there are so many bizarre twists and turns. Funny, sexy and well thought out. Without a doubt Cimil has been the lynch pin of this series with her machinations and exploits leading everyone around, but it's a ride that has been unforgettable and I cannot express my awe at this authors talent. Prepare to suspend all belief when you pick up a book by Ms Pamfiloff, pack your sense of humour and above all else enjoy!
