Frenzy, is a grim reaper of legend and part of The Morrigan's personal retinue. He wasn't supposed to be working the streets of San Francisco but thanks to a sudden shortage of reapers to do the job, he finds himself staring into the eyes of a woman who reminds him fiercely of a lover he'd once known in the seventeenth century. He'll do anything to make her his, even if that means becoming the monster the world had once feared.
Frenzy may have started out as a member of the Fae court but when the woman he loved was brutally murdered there was nothing in either realm that could control his grief. Frenzy lost all reason and his lust for spilling blood could not be appeased. Now centuries later, he is a Reaper and always ready to claim the souls of those mortals he now despises, but when attempting to claim the soul of a vampire attack victim, he finds himself embroiled in a race to save both supernatural and mortal lives.
Mila is the last true Seer alive. She's gifted with the power of visions that could alter the life of all mankind. She realizes she's been exposed and goes on the run, but is tracked down by vampires who infect her with their venom. Mila begs the stranger who saves her from true death but Frenzy refuses and worse he takes her away claiming that he will protect her. Mila cannot allow herself to be taken prisoner. She struggles to convince him she truly would be better off dead, but Frenzy is just as stubborn as Mila. There's just something about her that calls to him but is it just attraction or is it more than that? Has fate brought these two people together? There's a darkness stalking Mila and she will have to trust Frenzy implicitly if she hopes to save the world!
Death's Redemption is the second in this series and follows on from Death's Lover. It features characters that for me, just lit up the page! I absolutely adored Frenzy and what a name! He is such an angry, cold character when we first meet him. Ms Hall cleverly gives us an insight into his true personality when he protects a lone wolf. He is a hard male but he's not a heartless one. As for Mila, well she is such a brave character and prepared to risk everything for the sake of good. She's one of those who the reader really gets behind and the chemistry between these two characters is fiery!
This is another great book from Ms Hall, filled with passion and adventure. Love and hate, life and death, Death's Redemption has it all. Written with panache and fast paced, there is never a dull moment in this book. An unexpected ending and I can't wait to read more. I don't feel it is essential to have read the previous book as this does work as a standalone but it would be a shame to miss out on this series.
