Mating with Roke was an accident; at least that's what Sally keeps telling herself. She's on the hunt for her demon father, whose identity holds the key to releasing the spell. The search won't be easy with Roke shadowing Sally's every move. As they mate with a ferocity that leaves them both aching for more, Sally isn't sure if her world is more dangerous without Roke—or with him. . .
The Dark Lord is finally defeated but Sally, the witch who was forced to work for him, is not out of the woods yet! She tried to cast a spell and it went a teeny bit wrong, well okay, it went drastically wrong. Now she's left with the powerful vampire Roke as her Mate and boy is he angry! If she can just find out who her Demon father is then surely he can help her undo the mess she's in. An uneasy truce forms between Sally and Roke as they set out to discover the identity of Sally's father but the Mating bond between them grows stronger with each passing moment and the raw heat between them is combustible. As the couple search for Sally's father, they uncover a mysterious box holding secrets long forgotten but someone else wants it! Sally is in danger and everything inside Roke screams out for him to protect his mate and woe betide anyone who gets in his way!
This was a fantastic story. I absolutely loved it and adore the way Sally, who let's face it had been working for the bad guys, could become such a likable heroine. She's such a determined and independent woman. She's surrounded by uber alpha males and yet somehow manages to hold her own. Roke, what can I say? He's so used to being self contained and yet here he is practically drooling over the most infuriating female he has ever met! The task of protecting her is nothing compared to the challenge he faces of not giving in to his most predatory instincts. Roke burns for her but Sally is no pushover and she's determined to remove her spell, as whilst they are under it neither of them can be sure what they feel is real.
This was an excellent addition to this series but to fully experience the joy of these vampires, I'd recommend reading in order starting with When Darkness Comes. These books are an absolute gift to lovers of hot paranormal romance and will leave you breathless. Darkly brooding heroes and snarky heroines constantly ensnare your attention but there's humour too and one particular gargoyle is an absolute star! Plot driven and fast paced, Hunt the Darkness was almost impossible to put down and I stayed up until four in the morning to finish it! It's an amazing world Ms Ivy has created with a wide variety of diverse characters and interesting creatures and I heartily recommend these books. Paranormal romance at it's absolute best!
Hunt the Darkness is $5.89 in paperback at B & N and the Nook book is $4.99. At Amazon, the paperback is $5.78 and the Kindle edition is $4.99
