New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Cynthia Eden introduces readers to a vamp with real bite in her sexy paranormal tale FEMME FATALE.
Author's Note: FEMME FATALE was originally published in the Dark Secrets anthology. The Dark Secrets anthology is no longer available.
Okay, what did I think? It's quite short, perhaps ninety pages or so but it does have a complete story in it so happily no cliffhanger. It's a story that reminds me of the heady days of film noir and I'm thinking particularly of such as The Big Sleep or Farewell My Lovely with a private investigator; perhaps more than a bit jaded but faced with a case that involves a very beguiling woman and of course our titular protagonist here just happens to be a Vampire! Mick might have thought initially that Savannah was several sandwiches short of a picnic but he's pragmatic enough to quickly get onboard and find out just who really is murdering young men. Slight problem though as yes Savannah is a blonde bombshell but is she telling the truth?
So, a paranormal romance that took on the air of days gone by but it was fun to sink into. There are sexy times here but it's not drawn out over endless pages. Although if honest, I'd personally be a little disappointed with Mick but I hasten to add, I cannot fault his enthusiasm! A mystery to solve with a red herring to muddy the waters but as a quick read whilst waiting for new stories from this author, this was fun.
