They're on target
They're as alpha as men can get.
The Dallas SWAT team is hiding one helluva secret . . . they're a pack of wolf shifters.
The team of elite sharpshooters is ultra-secretive—and also the darlings of Dallas. This doesn't sit well with investigative journalist Mackenzie Stone. They must be hiding something . . . and she's determined to find out what.
Keeping Mac at a distance proves impossible for SWAT team commander Gage Dixon. She's smart, sexy, and makes him feel alive for the first time in years. But she's getting dangerously close to the truth—and perilously close to his heart...
Mac has an instinct for sniffing out stories (not to mention trouble!) and everything inside her is screaming that the local Dallas PD SWAT team are maybe too good to be true. Their record is exemplary but the word on the street is they might not be as clean cut as they pretend. Is it possible they take some sort of performance enhancing drug and if so what is it? They are secretive and remote but by hook or by crook Mac intends to discover all their secrets!
Gage is the ultimate alpha and that's saying something as all of his team is alpha werewolves! Brought together to fight crime and save lives, it's imperative their unique abilities remain secret but there's a certain nosy reporter that keeps hanging around. Now, Gage is not stupid and he quickly realises Mac is not the sort to just give up and so he decides to show her a sanitized version of life in a SWAT team. These strong males might not be keen but if doing drills and allowing Mac to watch them train will help then okay time to pull up the big boy panties and roll! Only there's a slight problem and it's the delectable way Mac smells and it's messing with Gage's head (both large and small!) so what are they to do? One very headstrong young woman is about to come up against a fiercely protective alpha male and it looks like fur just might fly!
Okay, yes Hungry Like the Wolf is a romance but Ms Tyler did an amazing job of creating a creditable story that didn't rely on sex to engage the reader’s attention. There are steamy moments but there's an awful lot more going on in this book. I'm going to stick my neck out here and suggest this team is going to be around for quite some time to come as the characters are diverse enough to really stretch out this new series. I loved the detail of police procedures and could really tell Ms Tyler had done her homework. I thought this was a very good beginning and can't wait to read more.
