The hunt for the origins of the soul vampires takes Morgan and Jack, the local Sunwalker and former Templar knight, from the depths of the famous Shanghai Tunnels of Portland to Area 51 and finally the streets of the City of Lights. The truth they uncover in Paris leads to a new confrontation with the Fairy Queen, and the very real possibility they won’t get out of this one alive.
Doing this in reverse order today.
What I didn't like: This book was a very short approximately 204 Kindle pages long. I thought I was right in the middle of the culmination of Kissed by Moonlight and low and behold, it ended. This book felt more like a bridge to the next without a soul to give it life. It felt flat. I really can't explain it. After the last novel, Kissed By Smoke, I could give you a paragraph on this one that would lead you to the next. Did that make sense? There are just a few "need to know" things in Kissed By Moonlight and the rest is dressing. Sorry. As I said I love this series but I was left feeling blah by this book.
What I liked: Ms MacLeod's writing style is easy to read and Kissed by Moonlight is extremely well edited as have been her other novels. The concept for the Sunwalker Series is unique and interesting. Morgan is a very intriguing character and her powers are growing. Can't wait to see what happens next with that.
The last novel, I paid $2.99 and was very satisfied. I wouldn't have minded paying a bit more. Kissed by Moonlight was $3.99.
Overall an excellent series, this just was not my favorite book.
