After three months of researching, she is positive she has found a jinn on a killing spree in San Diego, California. Since Syd gave Dimitri the one thing he thought was out of reach, he feels obligated to use his ill-gained talents for her cause.
A few hours back in the US proves that Dimitri and Syd didn't quite make the clean escape they had thought. As they trail the elusive jinn, someone else trails them. What should have been a simple trip to confirm once and for all if the jinn are living among humans, instead reveals a community keeping dark secrets.
Unfortunately for Dim, the only way out is in.
Now Syd has a lead and thinks they can help save another Jinn but Dimitri has no magic, just experience and whatever he can learn from the Internet! Oh, did I forget to say that Dimitri isn't really a Jinn? Did I not mention that he's a human whose family bizarrely found themselves trapped by a curse? Oh yes, Stifled is like no other and if you want a humdinger of a tale with a hero painfully emulating the energiser bunny, you really need to get your hands on this book!
There's romance but it's played down a bit which made it a better read. The couple still can't keep their hands off each other but we are starting to see cracks which funnily enough makes their relationship feel more realistic. Dimitri is without a doubt the star of the show and his thoughts are often hilarious but Ms Kaye cleverly brings new characters in and although they are peripheral, it still adds to the fun. Yes, I said fun!
It is fast paced and there are extremely tense situations but I never knew what to expect as the action galloped on dragging me with it and I can't wait for book three!
