Anais remembers meeting a handsome warrior in the heat of battle, a man who was her enemy but who looked at her with eyes that held dark heat and wicked promises. When she wakes to find that same dragon shifter has taken her captive, desire is the last thing on her mind, but escaping him to return to Archangel, the hunter organisation she works for, sounds less than appealing when he reveals the reason he took her—to stop her from dying.
Can Loke protect Anais from the dangers of his realm and how far will he go to save her from the future he keeps witnessing? Can Anais resist the fierce attraction that burns between them as hot as fire and stay true to Archangel or will her heart be taken by the dragon?
If you love shape shifter stories then Ms Heaton’s Dragon Loke will blow your mind. Born with the gift of visions, he kidnapped the Archangel agent, Anais, when he saw a possible future for her involving death. That's the least of their problems as Loke comes to realise Anais is his fated Mate. Loke's lonely life is about to get very interesting indeed as he struggles to convince the stubborn Anais, he only wants to protect her. Try as he might, Loke's visions may change, but each one foretells the same thing, a bloody and dying Anais!
I love this series with its crazy mixture of Elves, Demons, Shifters and even Angels! The recent stories have featured the Feline Shifters quite heavily, so it was with joy I realised we were going back to where it all began, at Archangel and boy does this book pack a lot in! Romance? In spades and not instant, although the strong mutual attraction is there. Poor Loke is such a fierce warrior, but he has a hard time in this story. Anais was an interesting character and I liked her loyalty to her family. She's a very feisty female and bravely takes on any and all who get in her way.
There is lots of action in this book but it's the assorted cameos that really made it a five star read for me. Does our hero get the girl? Well, it's Ms Heaton at her finest and yes, they do develop a very intense relationship with more than a little fiery heat; but Taken by a Dragon keeps piling on the surprises and made for a great read.
I was gifted a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.
I heartily recommend to paranormal romance lovers!!!!!
