Fierce immortal warrior. Host to the demon of Disease. Torin’s every touch causes sickness and death—and a worldwide plague. Carnal pleasure is utterly forbidden, and though he has always overcome temptation with an iron will, his control is about to shatter.
She is Keeley Cael. The Red Queen. When the powerful beauty with shocking vulnerabilities escapes from a centuries-long imprisonment, the desire that simmers between her and Torin is scorching. His touch could mean the end for her, but resisting her is the hardest battle he’s ever fought—and the only battle he fears he can’t win.
Trapped in a prison in another realm Torin angers probably the most powerful female Ms Showalter has ever dreamed up. Keeleycael, aka The Red Queen, has been imprisoned for centuries after being tricked by Hades but she is almost ready to return to her rightful place in the world. When Torin infects Mari the one person The Red Queen cares about, her vengeance knows no bounds and slaking it is all she craves. As an immortal warrior Torin should be safe, right? wrong, because this is the woman who sank Atlantis. Torin has The Allkey so manages to escape his cell but the powerful Queen is hot on his trail but if they are to escape the Realm they are trapped in, they will have to work together and trust does not come easily.
Lords of the Underworld has been a fabulous series to read and I really think that they are books best read in order. Torin's story was a good length so on that point the author really did him justice. I really liked that he got the most powerful female character we have ever seen in these books, go Red Queen! Is it sexy? Well, they do have is great chemistry and both want nothing more than to get carnal. So why am I not singing and dancing and going whoop whoop? I guess all through the series Torin has been portrayed as this tech savvy guy with mad hacking talents and yet we saw none of that in The Darkest Touch. It felt almost like a different character. I loved that he was allowed to be a warrior and show his mettle and it was delicious seeing him lose his control; but for me it lacked a little something I guess.
It's fabulous to see this world continuing to grow and we get to see all the Lords pulling together in The Darkest Touch. There's still trouble in the works though and the war in Hell is about to come knocking at the Lords' door I fear. I know whose book I want next but will have to wait and see where Ms Showalter's muse leads her. So this paranormal fan will be waiting impatiently for the next book.
