Step into a world of angels and demons, where there are fates worse than death and love larger than life.
Ryan Love’s life is about to go up in flames—literally—when a mystical being named Sabelle appears, claiming to be from the Beyond, the realm of heaven, hell, and mysteries both awesome and terrifying. As Ryan’s family business and home are destroyed in a freak explosion, Sabelle saves him just in time. So why does Ryan feel like she’s the one who needs saving?
Sabelle is a Spinner, or agent of fate, whose sole purpose is to guide Ryan through his life choices. But the time is coming when she must part with him forever and entrust her job to someone else—someone who cares much less about him. And she can’t bear the thought, because each time Ryan touches her she falls more in love with him…
But maybe there is a way to stop the ticking time bomb. She’s heard rumors, and no one knows for certain if it works. It’s forbidden, of course, and dangerous—undoubtedly. Sabelle must leave the Beyond and bind herself to Ryan forever. But how will Ryan react when he learns what she’s done? And are their destinies forever connected, or can Ryan still pave the path of his future?
Sabelle has felt a connection to Ryan for a long time and as a powerful Seer has watched him from the Beyond. From the outset they are running for their lives and although Ryan has an uncanny ability to know when people lie to him, he just can't seem to completely trust Sabelle. He wants her and cannot deny it, but her association with the Beyond and all it entails tests his faith. Ryan struggles but when push comes to shove? Ryan is most definitely a hero!
This was a fabulous roller coaster of a book and a real page turner. Action, suspense, passion and real what will happen next moments! If there was anything I didn't like, it was the lack of explanations. We are still in the dark about just what the Love family really is, but happily we do get to catch up with Roxy and Santo from the previous book and yes, that wonderfully annoying Reaper is still on form. You will loathe and detest the villain and trust me, the agenda set for these characters is just eew and really not pleasant. I shudder to think about it. Luckily Ms Quinn still has more Love siblings with stories to tell and if they are anything like this book, they will be smoking!
I loved the world building full of Reapers, Seers, Gods, Fate; you name it and it's here. Ms Quinn clearly has an amazing imagination and the skill to capture and hold the reader’s attention. Okay, I'm definitely ready for the next book!
I was gifted a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.
