When the snarky Glory St. Pierre discovers the gold mechanical vase in her deceased grandmother’s basement, she has no idea that she has uncovered a priceless treasure: a genie lamp. With a real genie inside. A very sexy genie with a not-so-sexy grudge against the entire human race.
Irving Amir hates being called a genie. He’s a Djinn, and he is none too happy to be in the service of Glory, who is as intolerable, and beautiful, as humans come. Now he owes her his gratitude for freeing him and three wishes. Damn his luck.
But an arrow through the shoulder alerts Irving to the fact that he is being hunted, and after a truce dinner with Glory ends with them both almost being killed, hating each other goes right out the window. As feelings change and love starts to develop, they must dig through the secrets and lies to find the truth...a truth neither of them will ever see coming.

Glory is in for a shock upon awakening when a beautiful man appears in her room declaring he will grant her three wishes! Oh my, a genie! Oops perhaps not, as the rather rude male insists he's a Djinn. Okay, Irving Amir is sex on legs but his arrogance and obvious disdain for all humans kind of deflates Glory’s libido (who am I kidding? He's still gorgeous!) . Glory isn't going to waste her wishes and kind of likes the idea of getting to know more about Irving. Then the unthinkable happens and he nearly dies, meaning all bets are off and the couple really begin to trust each other but how did the hunters track down Irving?
I liked the beginning of Wish For Me and can easily understand why it was recommended to me. Snarky heroine, sexy aloof Djinn with a twinkle in his eyes, amethyst eyes, no less! There's a lot more to Irving then meets the eye; he has quite a past and is an inventor to boot, so if you enjoy a touch of steampunk alongside magic, then this might just be the book for you.
What Glory discovers about him was almost exactly what I suspected. Glory, hmm what do I say about her? I think her personality will divide readers as I'm pretty sure not everyone will like her. Yes, she can be funny and clearly suffers from verbal diarrhea but she can also appear obnoxious at times. I really enjoyed some of Ms Jones' unusual choices to describe things, but alas wasn't sure about the big reveal. I'm like eighty six percent in (according to my kindle) and the author had my eyes virtually popping out of my head! What? No? Really? Light, sexy and fun with a lovely cover and an ending that was totally surprising.
